Assistant Commissioner, Enforcement Managed and directed activities of the Department in the enforcement of the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination in employment, housing, education, and other areas. Managed a staff of 50, including investigators, investigative supervisors, and contract compliance officers; prepared the Department’s enforcement budget and defended it to the Minnesota legislature; drafted legislation; testified before legislative committees; represented the Department on community boards and in constituent groups.

 

Appeals Hearing Officer/Fact Finding Conference Convener Conducted new charge analysis; presided at investigative fact-finding conferences; recommended disposition of charge investigations; conducted negotiations for settlement of discrimination claims; drafted settlement agreements; recommended disposition of appeals of the Commissioner’s determinations; researched and drafted regulations to clarify the Minnesota Human Rights Act.
